Our team is passionate about pediatric dentistry! By receiving quality dental care from a young age, your child can be in the best possible position for maintaining a healthy smile as they enter their teen years. Discover how pediatric dentistry can benefit your child’s smile!
Why Pediatric Dentistry is Important
During regular dental visits, your child’s dentist can catch dental problems in the earliest stages through exams and x-rays and address them right away. Consistent check-ups will help your child avoid unnecessary dental emergencies or extensive treatment. Your child’s dentist can also provide valuable insight regarding their teeth alignment. Simple and effective methods, such as space maintainers, can keep baby teeth from shifting out of place and guide your child’s permanent teeth as they develop. Pediatric dentistry can also contribute to oral and overall health. By keeping the teeth and gums healthy, your child can build good oral habits that will last a lifetime!
When to Schedule The First Visit
We recommend scheduling your child’s first visit around one year of age or shortly after their first teeth erupt. If your child is older and has never seen a dentist, it’s never too late to get started! Your child’s first visit will involve getting to know our team and receiving a simple exam. We will help your child thoroughly enjoy their first dental experience and help them get comfortable in the dental chair. We’ll also answer any questions you may have and help you understand your child’s dental development. After their initial visit, we recommend scheduling regular visits every six months.
What to do to Prepare
We more than welcome your child to bring a favorite stuffed animal, blanket or other small toy that helps them relax during their visit. For each appointment, please bring your photo ID and insurance card. To save time, you can fill out your child’s New Patient Forms online and submit them prior to their scheduled visit. Our team will go above and beyond to help your child feel completely comfortable throughout each dental visit!
